AERA President Janelle Scott invites AERA members to contribute ideas for the 2025 AERA Annual Meeting Presidential Program.

Scott encourages recommendations for presidential sessions related to the 2025 Annual Meeting theme, “Research, Remedy, and Repair: Toward Just Education Renewal.” In discussing the theme, she emphasizes the centrality of the first word, “Research,” in addressing the full topic. As Scott put it, the theme “calls us to consider how we can work across disciplinary, epistemological, and methodological orientations to forge deeper connections in our field that can speak to the challenges we face in education and in our imperfect multiracial democracy.”

The President Annual Meeting theme concludes with the following guidance:

“We welcome ideas for presidential sessions. We will consider proposed sessions that align with the conference theme, include researchers from across AERA Divisions and SIGs, are multi-generational, and that focus on the role of research in this critical and challenging period. Please submit only one proposal. Please send one paragraph proposals (no more than 500-750 words) to president@aera.net by July 26, 2024. We will invite fuller submissions from those most promising in light of the theme and the limited number of presidential sessions.”

President Scott considers ideas and feedback to be essential to developing a Presidential Program that engages and inspires 2025 Annual Meeting attendees.
